Forage Harvesting
Forage harvesting makes up the bulk of our work, and we're always looking for ways to make the job smoother. To this end we've outfitted our trucks with automatic covers, which reduces time spent covering loads and the end cost for the customer.
The grass season runs from October through to February and we run one or both harvesters, depending on the season. In the 2016/2017 season loader wagons are back on the menu for farmers as we have 2 new Lely machines.
Equipment
Inoculant
We have a high quality inoculant for grass which reduces wastage (especially whent the grass is wetter or drier than normal) and increases quality - therefore increasing milk production. For more information, visit the Pioneer site.
Triticale is harvested mainly in February with a whole crop head.

Both of our harvesters are on the go for the maize season and it's a hectic 4 - 5 weeks. Apart from the farmers own maize, we sell maize grown on our own blocks, and we're contracted to several large maize growers to harvest & sell their maize. For information about buying from or selling to us, please go to the Feed Buy/Sell page, or contact us.
Equipment
Inoculant
We supply either 1174 or 11C33 inoculant for maize. As with grass, inoculant increases the quality of the maize silage, therefore increasing production, and also reduces wastage in the stack.
